We are a group of women who gather each Monday evening to sing, share the harmony of friendship, and learn the barbershop art form.  During the day we are mothers, nurses, secretaries, teachers, government employees and professionals of all walks, but on Mondays we’re just singers having a great time preparing for shows, competitions and performances.

 

The Battle Creek Chorus is part of Sweet Adelines International, the world's largest singing and music educational organization for women.  Sweet Adelines, a nonprofit educational organization, has more then 28,000 members in the United States and more then ten other foreign countries.  We are part of “Lake Michigan Region 3”, which includes Southwestern Michigan, Northwestern Indiana and the Chicago, Illinois area up to the Wisconsin state line.

 

We participate in an annual regional competition to determine who will represent our region at the international level contest.  This is a wonderful experience, and all the preparation that goes into our competition package helps us to improve our vocal and performing skills.  We’re looking forward to our next competition and would love to share the experience with you.

 

We are very proud of our chorus. Our repertoire includes a wide variety of songs including Broadway show tunes, patriotic, gospel, love songs, tear-jerker ballads and some of the most popular contemporary music heard today.
